About Lagers for Heroes
America’s Oldest Brewery is proud to be fiercely independent for nearly 190 years. At D.G. Yuengling & Son, Inc., we are thankful and proud of the brave and dedicated men and women who have made tremendous sacrifices to protect our country’s freedom, honor, and independence. The military and first responders have always been a community with which Yuengling has a connection and has supported on national and local levels for many years. Our heroes’ programs have allowed America’s Oldest Brewery to enhance that connection and make a positive impact on the service community from the time of service through separation. Entering its fifth year, our Lagers for Heroes program seeks ways to support and show appreciation to servicemen and women, veterans, first responders, and their families.
Team RWB
Team RWB’s mission is to enrich the lives of America’s veterans by connecting them to their community through physical and social activity. They provide regular, inclusive physical fitness, social and volunteer service activities for veterans, their families and community members. At over 140,000 members, operating in 204 communities, Team RWB assists veterans seeking connection to develop authentic relationships to support better mental, emotional and physical health. Yuengling supports Team RWB through its Light Lager Jogger 5K.
TAPS COVID-19 Support
Since 1994, TAPS has provided compassionate care for the families of America’s fallen military heroes. More than 25 years later, TAPS is proud to help more than 95,000 surviving military loved ones find hope, healing, resources and access to education assistance and casework support – all free of charge. Yuengling has partnered with TAPS to help promote and fund TAPS Inner Warrior Program, a unique strength-based therapeutic program focused on uplifting military survivors toward a healthier, fuller life through physical fitness and mental well-being.
Operation Gratitude
Yuengling Brewery employees gather to help assemble military care packages for Operation Gratitude. The care kits benefited U.S. servicemen and women, first responders, veterans, and their families. The brewery supports nonprofits, such as Operation Gratitude, and advance programs that positively impact veterans and their families.
Gary Sinise Foundation COVID 19 First Responders Relief
Supporting our nation’s heroes is an important initiative for our brewery. As such, we are honored to have partnered with the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service dedicated campaign. Gary Sinise Foundation’s dedicated campaign called the Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service, which will go exclusively towards providing grants to first responders within Yuengling’s 22-state footprint. The grants will assist first responders, especially those within volunteer organizations that have limited resources, in purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) and essential gear needed when answering COVID-19 service calls. Through the Gary Sinise Foundation’s Emergency COVID-19 Combat Service, financial assistance is also available to healthcare professionals, service members, veterans, first responders, and their families who have been impacted by the novel coronavirus.
